Look at that rock! Gabrielle Union is engaged to Dwyane Wade, the couple announced on Saturday, Dec. 20.
“Sooooo this happened…#Yessss,” the 40-year-old actress wrote via Instagram. Alongside the caption, Union shared the (gorgeous!) engagement ring the Miami Heat basketball player presented to her when he popped the question. Wade added: “She said YES!!!”
The Think Like a Man Too star and Wade, 31, shared an intimate snapshot of the bride-to-be placing her hand in her new fiancé’s. Wade gave Union a beautiful 8.5 carat cushion cut diamond ring made by Jason of Beverly Hills, Us Weekly has exclusively learned.
The soon-to-be bride and groom have been dating since 2009, and have never shied away from expressing their love for one another.
“She makes my eyes sparkle,” Wade told Oprah Winfrey on Oprah’s Next Chapter last summer. “The biggest time she makes my eyes sparkle is when Zaire (his 11-year-old son from a previous marriage) comes home and homework is a little hard that day, so he’s stressing, and she goes to the table with him and she sits down until he gets it.”
He added: “And at that time my heart is smiling a little bigger that day because I know her love is deeper than just me.”
