Top 10 Celebrity Feuds of 2009 by zimbio.com David Letterman vs. Sarah Palin
1.Mariah Carey vs. Eminem
The Mariah/Eminem conflict stems from a fundamental disagreement: He says they used to have a sexual relationship, which she denies. They’ve written songs bashing each other, with Eminem calling Mariah a “whore” in “Bagpipes from Baghdad” and Mariah imitating him in her video “Obsessed.” He also threatened to leak nude photos of her.
2. Adam Lambert vs. Clay Aiken
Clay took to his official fan club blog after the American Idol finale aired in May 2009 to trash both Idol and Adam Lambert, calling Lambert’s performance “contrived, awful, and slightly frightening.” Later, Adam took a stab at Aiken, saying “I’m glad he’s getting headlines now though, because he wasn’t before” and “If he wants to ride my coattails about it, good for him.” Aiken apologized.
3. Michael Lohan vs. Samantha Ronson
We’ve heard of overprotective fathers, but Papa Lohan has taken his disapproval of Lindsay’s love life to a new level. Last fall he made headlines by blogging about how “dark, hideous and disgusting” Samantha Ronson is, alleging that she asks guests to wipe with the cardboard roll after toilet paper runs out and blaming her for Lindsay’s flailing acting career. Samantha accused him of being “desperate” for attention.
4. Hilary Duff vs. Faye Dunaway
If Hilary Duff was psyched to be cast as the lead in the Bonnie & Clyde remake, her excitement didn’t last for long. When Faye Dunaway (the original Bonnie) found out, she snapped, “Couldn’t they at least cast a real actress?” Hilary aimed low in response, telling the press, “I might be mad if I looked like that now, too.” BURN.
5. Lauren Conrad vs. Speidi
The Hills rivalry has endured since 2007, when Spencer spread a rumor that LC had made a sex tape with Jason Wahler (which he still maintains is true). Lauren’s friendship with Heidi ultimately dissolved. The show’s producers staged a fake apology from Spencer and Lauren attended the Pratt/Montag wedding, but we can tell they all still harbor a grudge: Spencer raves how much better the show is sans LC, and Conrad dissed Heidi’s recent Playboy cover.
6. Tori Spelling vs. Candy Spelling
Tori’s never had a great relationship with her mom, but things really soured when dad Aaron Spelling left nearly all of his $500 million estate to Candy. Tori tried to make amends by inviting her mom to daughter Stella’s first birthday party, but Candy didn’t show. Candy sent an open email to TMZ claiming her daughter’s selling her life to the cameras on her reality show, and she refuses to be a part of it. She also once publicly blamed Tori for her father’s death.
7. Perez Hilton vs. will.i.am
In June, Perez tweeted a series of messages claiming he’d been roughed up by will.i.am and his security guards. Later news came out that Hilton had called the Black Eyed Pea a “f****t” to incite the rage, and GLAAD turned on Perez and bashed him for using the gay slur. A video of Hilton tearfully recounting the incident was posted on his site, and later mocked by Zac Efron in a ‘Funny or Die’ video.
8. Seth Rogen vs. ‘Entourage’
When the Entourage cast took a shot at Seth Rogen in an episode (saying he’s too ugly to score with Knocked Up costar Katherine Heigl in real life), Seth didn’t shy away from addressing the diss. He publicly called everyone on the show “a**holes” and vowed he would never watch Entourage.
9.Jamie Foxx vs. Miley Cyrus
Foxx totally crossed the line when he talked about Miley Cyrus on his Sirius radio show, saying “she gotta get a gum transplant!” and advising the 16-year-old to “catch chlamydia on a bicycle seat.” Gross. Anyway, Billy Ray shot back to Foxx, calling the comments “hurtful,” and Jamie ultimately apologized. Don’t mess with Hannah Montana.
10. David Letterman vs. Sarah Palin
David Letterman made a seemingly-innocent joke on The Late Show about Sarah Palin’s visit to Yankee Stadium, quipping, “The toughest part of her visit was keeping Eliot Spitzer away from her daughter.” Palin called him “disgusting” for the sexual reference to her 14-year-old, and her fans rallied to have him fired. Letterman claimed he was talking about her older daughter, but he had to publicly
