Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner Split After 10 Years of Marriage

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck

Ben and Jen no more. Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner have split after more than 11 years together. The couple’s announcement comes just one day after their 10th wedding anniversary.

“After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce. We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time,” the couple said in a joint statement to Us Weekly on Tuesday, June 30. “This will be our only comment on this private, family matter. Thank you for understanding.”

Affleck, 42, and Garner, 43, first met on set of 2001’s drama Pearl Harbor, and shared the screen once more in 2003’s Daredevil. They remained friends before going public as a couple at the Boston Red Sox’s opening game of the World Series on Oct. 23, 2004.

The Argo director proposed on the actress’ 33rd birthday in April 2005, and wed in a hush-hush Caribbean ceremony that June. They share daughters Violet, 9, Seraphina, 6, and son Samuel, 3.

Back in March, the Nine Lives actress revealed that the pair often take turns working so the other could be at home with the kids. “I’ve been home for a long time. It’s my turn and I’m going to go to work this spring,” she told reporters at a Beverly Hills event for her film Danny Collins. “I think I’ll work the spring and summer, maybe the fall too, as long as some of it’s at home.” (That month, Garner and Violet accompanied Affleck to his U.S. Senate hearing in Washington, D.C. He’s since been preparing for his role as Batman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and has been filming Suicide Squad in Toronto, Canada.)

Affleck and Garner walked their last red carpet together at the 2nd annual Save the Children Illumination Gala at NYC’s Plaza Hotel in November 2014. Most memorably, Garner supported Affleck during his stellar awards season for the drama Argo in 2013.

“I want to thank you for working on our marriage for 10 Christmases. It’s good. It is work but the best kind of work and there’s no one I’d rather work with,” Affleck said while accepting Argo’s Best Picture Oscar (his second following a Best Screenplay win for Good Will Hunting in 1997) in February 2013. “You have to work harder than you think you possibly can. It’s hard. But you can’t hold grudges. And it doesn’t matter if you get knocked down in life. All that matters is that you gotta get back up.”

Garner later reacted to the speech during an interview with The Telegraph. “I know Ben, I knew he meant it as the hugest, warmest compliment in the world,” she explained. “I think he was saying, ‘Look, what we have is really real and I value it above all and I’m in it with you and I know you are in it with me.’ That’s the way I took it.”

Affleck previously called off his two-year engagement to Jennifer Lopez in 2004. (The exes shared a laugh at the 2015 Oscars.) He also romanced Gwyneth Paltrow from 1997 to 2000. Garner split from Scandal’s Scott Foley in 2003 after two years of marriage, and later had a brief romance with Alias costar Michael Vartan.

In the January 2015 issue of Ocean Drive, the actress revealed that she loves being pregnant.

“What I wanted originally was six kids. I frickin’ love being pregnant. I’m one of the lucky women who just had a blissful pregnancy, but I wanted to adopt four,” she told the mag. “My partner and I have really been through the ringer in the adoption world and it’s hard, so we’ll see what happens. Life is magically beautiful, and it brings you what is perfect.”

Lilly was previously married to Murray Hone in 2003. Following their split, she dated Lost costar Dominic Monaghan.

Jennifer Love Hewitt Welcomes Second Child, Baby Boy

Jennifer Love Hewitt and Brian Hallisay

More to love! Jennifer Love Hewitt and Brian Hallisay have welcomed their second child together, Us Weekly can confirm. The couple’s baby boy, Atticus, arrived on Wednesday, June 24.

Us broke the news in January that Hewitt and the hunky Revenge actor, both 36, were expecting baby No. 2. The couple’s new addition now joins big sister Autumn James, 19 months.

The Criminal Minds actress opened up about her “magical” second pregnancy in the May issue of American Baby magazine. “I’m grateful. It’s not lost on me what a gift it is to be able to get pregnant,” she said at the time.

“I’ve been an actress for 25 years, and have had to be hungry at times for my career, so being pregnant is completely freeing,” she continued. “When I was expecting Autumn, I ate everything I saw! I told myself, ‘Oh there’s a doughnut — I should have that.’ Now with this second pregnancy, I know the baby really doesn’t ‘need it.’ So I eat healthy foods in general, but I also indulge in little things that I crave.”

Hewitt, who secretly wed Hallisay in 2013, also dished about embracing her new figure. “Your body changes so much, and there’s a sensuality about that.” She quipped: “I say accentuate the fact that your legs look thinner than they ever have, and your boobs look great: Work it!”

Britney Spears, Boyfriend Charlie Ebersol Split

Britney Spears and Charlie Ebersol at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards.

Britney’s single, one more time. Britney Spears and her boyfriend of eight months, Charlie Ebersol, have called it quits, Us Weekly exclusively confirms.

The pair, who started dating in October 2014, last attended a public event together at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards in mid-May.

Spears, 33, deleted all photos of her ex from her Instagram account, though many of her Twitter pics remain. For Valentine’s Day, the son of Saturday Night Live co-creator Dick Ebersol and actress Susan Saint James gifted his former love with a massive cake that read “Charlie [hearts] Britney,” and Spears posted it on Twitter, writing, “Cake war over! Charlie wins!!!! Happy Valentine’s Day everyone.”

Ebersol, 32, had also spent a lot of quality time with Spears’ sons Jayden, 8, and Sean, 9, even posing with the trio in the family Christmas photo.

Spears was previously married to Jason Alexander in 2004 and Kevin Federline from 2004 to 2007. She was engaged to Jason Trawick from December 2011 to January 2013, and prior to dating Ebersol was linked to boyfriend David Lucado, whom she claimed cheated on her.

Sean Penn, Charlize Theron Split

Charlize Theron and Sean Penn

Sad news. Sean Penn and his fiancee Charlize Theron have a called it quits after nearly a year and a half together, multiple sources exclusively confirm to Us Weekly.

One insider tells Us that the high-profile pair, who got together in December 2013, decided that their romance was over following their most recent jaunt to the Cannes Film Festival in the south of France. The source tells Us that Theron, 39, was the one to break things off with the fellow Oscar winner.

Theron and Penn, 54, had known each other for decades before their friendship blossomed into romance.

A year into their relationship, Us exclusively reported in December 2014 that they had gotten secretly engaged during a trip to Paris. There was, however, no elaborate proposal. “There’s no ring, but they are committed,” an insider told Us at the time.

In a memorable interview with Esquire UK this past March, Penn said he was ready to be a husband after his previous failed marriages. The actor was famously married to Madonna from 1985 to 1989, followed by House of Cards actress Robin Wright from 1996 to 2010; he and Wright share two grown kids, Dylan and Hopper. Meanwhile, the South African beauty’s exes include Craig Bierko and Stuart Townsend.

“You say I’ve been married twice before, but I’ve been married under circumstances where I was less informed than I am today,” Penn speculated of his future with Theron. “So I wouldn’t even consider it a third marriage, I’d consider it a first marriage on its own terms if I got married again. I mean, I like the tradition. A friend of mine wrote a line, ‘Without tradition, new things die.’ And I don’t want new things to die.”

He added in the same interview that he was “surprised to be in love” with Theron for many reasons. “I’m self-proclaimed bad at mathematics but I can do two plus two,” he explained. “53 years old plus finally beginning to figure out why you haven’t been happy in a single relationship? It could seem too late. But to run into somebody now who you care about is a much more passionate, deeper, truer and – God! – a much happier feeling. It’s a lot more romantic and a lot more fulfilling to be in a relationship and to think you’re a good person within it.”

Theron echoed his sentiments in subsequent interviews, including one with Esquire this past April, in which she confessed that she was “shocked” to have fallen for Penn. “I’m a very, very, very lucky girl,” she told the mag. “Very lucky. He’s hot.”

The Mad Max: Fury Road star noted to Elle UK in its June 2015 issue that Penn was it. “Putting aside that he’s my partner, he’s the love of my life,” the mom to little Jackson told the publication. “For the first time, I felt that my work was really bleeding into my life and that made it hard.”
