Shakira‘s future soccer team just gained a new member.

The singer welcomed her second son with longtime love Gerard Piqué on Thursday Jan. 29, she announced on her website.

Joining 2-year-old big brother Milan, the coupleâ€s newborn baby boy, Sasha Piqué Mebarak, was born at 9:54 p.m. in Barcelona.

“The name Sasha is of Greek and Russian descent and means ‘defender of mankind†and ‘warrior,’” the birth announcement reads. “The hospital confirmed that both mother and child are in excellent health.”

Following weeks of pregnancy rumors, the “Hips Donâ€t Lie” singer, 37, confirmed she and her FC Barcelona soccer player boyfriend were expanding their family.

“Yes, we are expecting our second baby!! Thank you for all your well wishes,” she shared on Facebook in August.

The mom-to-be and Piqué managed to keep the sex of their second child a secret — until Shakiraâ€s parents spilled the beans while visiting the future family of four in Spain. “Yes, another little boy. A playmate for Milan,” they told Hola! magazine

Her belly doesnâ€t lie: Shakira is pregnant!

The singer is expecting her second child with longtime love Gerard Piqué, she revealed on Facebook.

“Yes, we are expecting our second baby!! Thank you for all your well wishes!” she wrote Thursday.

The post confirms what the pop star, 37, said in the September issue of  Cosmopolitan en Español, which first broke her happy news.

“Well, yes, the truth is that, yes, I am pregnant,” the mom-to-be, who graces the cover, told the magazine.

In March, Shakira — who performed at the World Cup closing ceremony in Brazil in July — said she was looking forward to seeing the coupleâ€s 19-month-old son Milan become a big brother in the near future.

“If it werenâ€t because of my music projects, I would be pregnant already,” she told Latina.

But while Shakira has been open about the baby bliss sheâ€s experienced since welcoming her first child, she has also admitted the transition into parenthood wasnâ€t without a few struggles.

“It takes a lot of energy from you — but I love it,” she told PEOPLE after her sonâ€s arrival. “Iâ€m really enjoying every bit of it. Itâ€s not as idyllic as everybody tells you — but not as horrible as everybody tells you. It comes with a full package.”
