Mira Sorvino has given birth to a son, Usmagazine.com confirms.

“After a difficult pregnancy involving potentially life-threatening complications to mother and child; the family are home, healthy and happy,” her rep said in a statement to Us on Monday.

The 41-year-old Oscar-winner — who was on bed rest for the last few months of her pregnancy — and husband Christopher Backus welcomed their third child, Holden Paul Terry Backus, on June 22. Their son joins older sister Mattea, 4, and brother Johnny, 3.

“We are overjoyed to bring our beautiful, healthy son home to his brother and sister. We are blessed to have a home filled with so much love,” the couple said in a statement.

Mira Sorvino is pregnant with her third child, her rep confirms to Usmagazine.com exclusively.

“We are overjoyed at the thought of welcoming a new addition to the family,” Sorvino, 41, tells Us. “With each child, the love in our hearts has expanded beyond what we ever imagined was possible.”

The actress — who was named a Goodwill Ambassador to combat Human Trafficking by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime on Thursday — and her husband of four years, Christopher Backus are already parents to Mattea Angel, 4, and Johnny Christopher King, 2.

The couple met a friend’s charades party in August 2003. They first said “I Do” in a private civil ceremony at a Santa Barbara, Calif., courthouse, and then later in Capri, Italy.

“We spend all our time with our two kids,” Sorvino told CNN last month. “They’re our favorite people in the world. We don’t spend a lot of time partying. We don’t go out much. And we just love our children and we love each other. And we have a good life. You know, we’re sort of normal people living in an abnormal place.”

Sorvino won an Oscar for best supporting actress in 1995 for her role in Mighty Aphrodite. She most recently starred on NBC’s The Last Templar with Backus, who has also appeared on The O.C and Will & Grace.
