They spent hours in the hotel room talking about their problems. But as eyewitnesses say, while having diner in Thai restaurant the couple looked happy, especially Kelly. Titanic actor Billy Zane has split from his fiancée, People has confirmed.

Zane, 42, and British actress Kelly Brook, 28, parted ways last month, according to a report in the U.K.’s Sun. (Reporters became suspicious after she appeared at a TV award show last Sunday without her engagement ring.)

“The decision was made after long conversations here and in the U.S.,” a source told the paper. “They remain good friends.” They were due to wed at their 600-year-old English farmhouse next year.”

“Yes, they have split,” Brook’s rep confirms to People. “That’s all we want to say at the moment.”

Zane and Brook – who rose to prominence in Britain by hosting a zany morning TV show – met on location in 2004 while filming castaway thriller Three.

The American actor became a regular red carpet figure in Britain with Brook, known for displaying her voluptuous figure in elegant gowns.

Asked by People at the 2004 British Independent Film Awards what he liked most about Brook, Zane pointed to his girlfriend and said: “Look at her, man. She’s beautiful.”
